Five Day Old Naia

The last photo shoot of the year couldn't have been a better way to end 2017.  What is better than cuddling with a super sweet and squishy newborn? It is also lovely to see new parents so in love with their new little bundle of joy.  It was fun to see Canadian couple Amber and Nick again, although this time they didn't bring their cute doggie.  He is still adjusting to life as a big brother.
With this last photo shoot of the year I wish you all a wonderful Christmas, holiday season, break with family, and time to reflect.  2017 hasn't been the easiest year and I open my arms wide to 2018 and say "welcome!" A happy and healthy new year to you all.

Baby Belly and Engagement Announcement

These days I have been getting a lot more customers through instagram.  This is always nice. Extra nice when it is a Canadian couple that get excited at the prospect of a fellow English speaker.  Funnily enough this last month I have had 5 different nationalities visit me for photos! That has to be a record.  I am so used to speaking Norwegian now after 14 years of living here, but it is always great to speak English :-)
Amber and Nick have been living here for a short time while Nick plays Ice Hockey for Asker's team Frisk.  Amber and their doggie Ray, came along for the ride.  Ray is a very loyal chug (chihuahua/pug). Their little girl is due a short time before Christmas and they wanted photos of her lovely pregnant belly plus some photos to announce their engagement!
Amber loves to cook and brought me some delicious banana/chocolate muffins for the kids...which we ate ;-)  Looking forward to meeting the fourth member of the family.
Thanks to Cecilie from Kongsberg Akupunktur for the loan of her beautiful light studio.

Land Ahoy! Life After Cancer.

This has been a difficult year for our friends and family.  We have had 2 friends with cancer and my Dad also had cancer.
We received our first message from Diana back in March that Alex had an aggressive type of lymphoma cancer. She wrote all the messages as if it was a travel diary with a family on a long voyage over the sea with rough waters and often horizons difficult to view.  It was often difficult to read and comprehend how life must have been for them, but we are so thankful that we were included in those updates. Things didn't look good for a while, but Alex was taken very good care of at Radium Hospital and with great help of modern medicine and all the positive thoughts from family, friends and staff at the hospital, Alex has beaten it! Cancer free but still with a long road ahead to recover.
I met this lovely Dutch family 13 years ago when they first moved to Norway and bought Hamremoen Gård. They have made an idyllic life together there with their 3 gorgeous children and I wish them many more happy years to come with a new lease of life.
You can see in their faces just how happy and thankful they are. It was so nice to see so much joy after such a tough year.

He Called Me "Le Photographe".

Last week I photographed a lovely french family.  With a sister visiting from France with her son we had two families in one.  It was quite challenging communicating with her 4 year old boy as we couldn't of course speak the same language. But language as I have known for a long time, goes far beyond words, and it only took a short while for him to warm up to me.  I must say I did love when he called me "le photographe".  Oh I melted :-) His 2 month old baby cousin was a smiley, happy baby boy.  We had the most perfect sunset and one tree with a few yellow leaves left. Winter is definitely coming.
