First Snow - Family Photoshoot

It had snowed a few days earlier in Kongsberg, but had mostly melted away.  It has since then, been very mild for November.  I was so happy to be taking photos of Catrine and family.  I have a photo of the two girls hanging in my studio from when Hanna was just a newborn.  4 years seem to just fly by.  We drove up to Knuten to find there was still a light covering of snow, and the lake had already turned to ice.  It had these beautiful swirly, circular patterns in it, like it had frozen quickly in a cold snap. Here we got our of the car and were met with freezing cold wind.  Oh so cold! The kind of wind that blows through you and turns you to ice! They decided we would stay and do some photos here anyway, with in between jumping around, warming up, jackets off, look like it's-warmer-than-what-it-is kind of photoshoot.  The were very good at this! I was impressed!
We then took a few photos at SĂžlvgruvene where there was no wind and it really was not as cold.
With less than 6 weeks until Christmas, I don't have much time left to do any photoshoots.  I am waiting for a couple of babies to be born, and have a couple of midweek photoshoots available.  Contact me asap if you want a spot. Otherwise I have Christmas photos on Sunday the 25th November.  Crossing fingers for some snow!

Dance Project - Autumn

It was a freezing cold day, just before the snow came.  Mana from Studio 3 and I took Ine out to Heistadmoen for a quick photoshoot in the wind.  I had thought that this area was going to give me back-lighting, so had got my directions completely messed up.  But I worked with the small amount of sunset we had left.
We then went to the forest to take a few more, and she looked like a forest-fairy. It really was too cold though, so we weren't there for long. Ine however, didn't complain once and was a super dancer!

F#@k Cancer!

It's bad when you hear someone you know has cancer, and there have been many in the last few years.  It's even worse when it's a child.  A boy that is the same age as your boy.  This could have been your boy.  It's heart wrenching.  It's been often difficult to watch through social media, what the family has gone through, what Tobias has gone through. A super sister that gave her bone marrow to save her little brother. It's also quite incredible to see the strength that comes, the long fight and the relief of recovery at the end.  All the love from friends and family, and a boy standing at the end of the long road, beautiful and strong.
They used to be our neighbours when our kids were much smaller.  I have taken photos of them over the years and couldn't think of another way to celebrate this family, than with a photoshoot. A small token to say "YES! You did it! F#@k Cancer!"
We celebrated out in Heistadmoen throwing leaves and climbing trees.  A family of 7 that was one of the easiest families I have taken photos of to date.
Thanks Torild and family for a nice afternoon and for letting me share this little story.
